Every menopause is different

Menopause is the period during which the ovaries gradually produce less oestrogen and progesterone. These hormonal fluctuations can cause various changes in your body, which often don't go unnoticed.

For many women, the first signs start to appear around the age of forty, as hormone levels begin to fluctuate and ovulation becomes less regular. The perimenopause – the phase before menopause – can last for several years.

Around eight in ten women experience one or more symptoms during this time. This is perfectly normal. However, the intensity varies greatly from person to person, and it's important to know that there are ways to manage these symptoms.
