During the menopausal transition, women’s menstrual cycles change. Your menstrual periods can become irregular, or your periods may skip a month and return with a vengeance. Your hormones are to blame for these menstrual problems.
If the menstrual problems are severe then your doctor may prescribe a medication, such as Primolut N. Primolut N tablets contain the active ingredient norethisterone, which is a synthetic hormone similar to the naturally occurring sex hormone, progesterone. Primolut N works by mimicking the action of progesterone to regulate the menstrual cycle and alleviate associated symptoms.
Note: Primolut N is not to be used as a contraceptive!
Always use this medication as directed by your doctor. Primolut N tablets should be taken with a drink of water, preferably after meals to avoid or reduce stomach distress or nausea.
