Saxenda is a weight loss treatment for women with overweight or obesity. Many women experience weight gain during menopause, and Saxenda can offer support in such cases. It contains liraglutide, a synthetic hormone that mimics the natural GLP-1 hormone in your body. This hormone helps to reduce appetite and makes you feel full more quickly. Saxenda is intended to be used alongside a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet and increased physical activity. It is suitable for women with a BMI of 30 or higher, or from a BMI of 27 if there are additional health risks such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or elevated cholesterol. Saxenda is not a quick solution but can assist with gradual and sustainable weight loss.
