Being overweight is not good for anybody in any way. But did you know that excess weight can intensify menopausal symptoms? What’s more, changes in your hormone levels during the menopausal transition can also lead to weight gain.
Wegovy contains the active substance semaglutide and is used to treat seriously overweight and obese people who are struggling to lose weight. By reducing appetite, this medicine makes it easier to stick to a weight loss plan. Wegovy is an injectable medicine. It comes as a pre-filled pen containing a solution for injection that you administer to yourself. This weight loss medicine should only be used with a healthy diet and exercise.
Note: Wegovy is used in adults who have:
If you are not sure if you are a candidate for this medicine, consult your doctor.
Wegovy is given as an injection under the skin (subcutaneous injection). Do not inject it into a vein or muscle. The best places to give the injection are the upper arms, stomach or upper legs. Before you use the pen for the first time, ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse how to use it.
Detailed instructions for use can be found in the package leaflet. Follow these instructions closely.
