Q: What is a consultation and how does it work?

During the consultation, you will complete a comprehensive medical questionnaire. You can also state your preferred type of treatment. Based on your answers, a doctor will prepare a treatment plan for you within 48 hours. If you approve this plan, a pharmacy will dispatch the products to your home within 3 days.

Q: How long will it take to receive my order?

Our partner pharmacies will dispatch your order within 3 days. You can then typically start your treatment straight away.

Q: Are there delivery charges?

For prescription medicines, delivery is included in the price. For over-the-counter products, there is a delivery charge of £ 4.21. We offer free delivery on orders over £4 0. If your order includes both, delivery is free.

Q: Can I change, cancel or return my order?

Unfortunately, once an order has been placed, it cannot be changed . If you have ordered the wrong product, or wish to change or cancel your order, please contact our customer service team immediately. Over-the-counter products can only be cancelled if they have not yet been prepared or dispatched by the pharmacy. Prescription medicines can be cancelled if they have not yet been assessed by a doctor. Returns are only accepted for over-the-counter products in their original unopened and undamaged packaging, within 14 days of dispatch.

What is the Wegovy pill?

The Wegovy pill is a tablet containing semaglutide, a substance that mimics the naturally occurring hormone GLP-1 in the body. This hormone plays a role in regulating appetite and satiety and is used in medications targeting weight management. The tablet is being studied as a treatment for adults with obesity or for individuals who are overweight and have at least one weight-related health condition, such as high blood pressure or elevated cholesterol. Initial results are promising but not yet conclusive for all target groups. In addition to the pill, there is also an injectable version of Wegovy for weight loss. The pill has not yet been approved in the European Union and remains in the clinical research phase. We will keep you informed as more information becomes available.

How does the Wegovy pill work?

The tablet activates the GLP-1 receptor, which may help you feel fuller for longer, reduce cravings, and consume fewer calories. This can support sustained weight loss. Studies have demonstrated not only weight loss but also improvements in waist circumference, cholesterol levels, and blood sugar levels. However, the pill is not currently approved specifically for these purposes. The tablet was used daily as a supplement to a healthy diet and increased physical activity, not as a replacement for them.

Side effects of the Wegovy pill

The side effects reported so far are consistent with what is already known about semaglutide: primarily gastrointestinal symptoms. In a phase 3b study, gastrointestinal symptoms were more common than with placebo, but serious side effects were not reported more frequently than in the placebo group. As research continues, the list of side effects may be expanded. Commonly reported symptoms include nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, bloating, belching, heartburn, dizziness, headache, and fatigue.

Research on the Wegovy pill

Key findings come from:

A phase 3 study with a daily dose of 50 mg in adults without type 2 diabetes showed an average weight reduction of 15.1% after 68 weeks, compared to 2.4% with placebo. Additionally, 85% of participants lost at least 5% of their body weight.
A phase 3b study with a daily dose of 25 mg in adults reported an average weight loss of approximately 14% after 64 weeks, compared to 2.4% with placebo. In this study, 76% achieved at least 5% weight loss, compared to 31% in the placebo group.

In these studies, the tablet was used daily in combination with lifestyle changes such as a calorie-restricted diet and increased physical activity. The goal of the treatment is not rapid weight loss but to support long-term weight loss and help maintain the achieved weight. While the results are promising, further research is needed to assess long-term safety, optimal dosing, and use in a broader patient population.
