What is Nitrofurantoin?

Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic that targets bacteria in the urinary tract. It is prescribed for bladder infections, which are more common during menopause. Symptoms such as pain or a burning sensation during urination, frequent urination, and cloudy urine can be relieved with this medication. This drug is hormone-free and specifically combats bacterial infections.
