• Alli orlistat blocks a portion of the fat from your food, reducing calorie absorption.
• It is available in capsule form and taken orally.
• You may begin to notice weight loss within a few weeks when combined with a low-calorie diet and regular exercise.

• Take one capsule three times a day with your main meals.
• Skip the capsule if you skip a meal or if the meal contains no fat.

For which conditions should you use Alli orlistat?

• For overweight or obesity (BMI of 30 or higher, or 28 with associated risk factors such as high blood pressure or diabetes)

It may also assist with:

• Elevated cholesterol

Do not use Alli orlistat if you:

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Are allergic to orlistat or any of the other ingredients.
• Have chronic problems with nutrient absorption (malabsorption syndrome) or gallbladder disorders.
• Are taking medication to prevent organ transplant rejection (ciclosporin) or blood thinners (acenocoumarol or warfarin), unless otherwise advised by a doctor.
• Are using other weight loss medications.
• Consult a doctor if you are taking medication for diabetes, high blood pressure, or thyroid conditions.

Most side effects are related to the fat that is not absorbed and is excreted through the stool. These symptoms are most common at the beginning of treatment and often diminish over time.

Common (affecting more than 1 in 10 users):

• Flatulence with or without stool
• Sudden or fatty diarrhoea
• Abdominal pain
• Oily or fatty stools

Uncommon (affecting fewer than 1 in 10 users):

• Loose stools
• Urgent need to use the toilet
• Bloating

Rare (affecting fewer than 1 in 1,000 users):

• Allergic reactions such as itching, rash, or facial swelling

In rare cases, these side effects may lead to severe symptoms, such as serious allergic reactions. Always contact a doctor immediately in such instances.
