Senshio

Senshio supports the health of the vaginal wall and may help reduce dryness, irritation, and pain during intercourse. It is a prescription-only medication in tablet form. A noticeable effect is typically observed after a few weeks of use, with optimal results achieved after approximately 12 weeks. Results and the speed of improvement may vary from person to person.

• Senshio is taken daily in tablet form.
• It is important to take Senshio at the same time each day.
• This medication is intended for postmenopausal women with moderate to severe vaginal symptoms when local treatments are not suitable.

For which symptoms is Senshio used?

Primarily helps with:

• Vaginal dryness
• Pain during intercourse (dyspareunia)
• Vaginal irritation or itching after menopause

May also help with:

• A burning sensation in and around the vagina
• An unpleasant or tight feeling in the vaginal wall

Do not use Senshio if you:

• Are allergic to ospemifene or any of the excipients
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have or have had an oestrogen-dependent tumour (such as certain types of breast cancer or skin cancer)
• Have unexplained vaginal bleeding
• Have or have had a blood clot, such as deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism
• Have severe liver problems
• Are taking medications that affect the action of Senshio, such as fluconazole, ketoconazole, rifampicin, or bosentan

If you are unsure whether you can combine Senshio with other medications, consult the doctor who prescribed it.

Common (in 1 to 10 out of 100 people):

• Hot flushes
• Vaginal discharge
• Muscle cramps

Uncommon (in 1 to 10 out of 1,000 people):

• Vaginal yeast infection
• Thickening of the uterine lining (endometrial thickening)
• Blood clots, such as deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism

Rare (in fewer than 1 out of 1,000 people):

• Severe allergic reaction
• Liver problems

In rare cases, these side effects can lead to serious conditions, such as blood clots in the legs or lungs. In such situations, always contact a doctor immediately.
