Xenical is a medication designed to assist with weight management. Sixty to seventy per cent of women experience weight gain during menopause. This medication supports the body by reducing the absorption of fat from food. The unabsorbed fat remains in the intestines and is excreted through the stool. Consequently, fewer calories are absorbed, which aids in weight loss. It also helps to improve levels of "bad" LDL cholesterol, potentially lowering the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
This is a hormone-free medication and does not interfere with hormonal balance. It is intended to complement a low-calorie diet and regular physical activity.
Xenical is suitable for individuals with a BMI of 30 or higher, or from a BMI of 28 if risk factors such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or elevated cholesterol are present.
