This depends on your health insurance provider. We recommend you check with your own insurance company. Supplements are not usually covered.

Q: What is a consultation and how does it work?

During the consultation, you will complete a comprehensive medical questionnaire. You can also state your preferred type of treatment. Based on your answers, a doctor will prepare a product recommendation for you within 48 hours. If you approve this recommendation, a pharmacy will dispatch the products to your home within 3 days.

Q: How long will it take to receive my order?

Our partner pharmacies will dispatch your order within 3 days. You can then typically start your treatment straight away.

Q: Are there delivery charges?

For prescription medicines, delivery is included in the price. For over-the-counter products, there is a delivery charge of £ 4.21. We offer free delivery on orders over £4 0. If your order includes both, delivery is free.

Q: Can I change, cancel or return my order?

Unfortunately, once an order has been placed, it cannot be changed . If you have ordered the wrong product, or wish to change or cancel your order, please contact our customer service team immediately. Over-the-counter products can only be cancelled if they have not yet been prepared or dispatched by the pharmacy. Prescription medicines can be cancelled if they have not yet been assessed by a doctor. Returns are only accepted for over-the-counter products in their original unopened and undamaged packaging, within 14 days of dispatch.

What is NuvaRing?

NuvaRing is a flexible vaginal ring primarily prescribed as a contraceptive. For women in perimenopause, the ring can help stabilise hormonal fluctuations, which may reduce symptoms. The ring contains two synthetic hormones:

Ethinylestradiol (a synthetic form of oestrogen)
Etonogestrel (a progestogen similar to progesterone)

For women in perimenopause, these hormones can help stabilise hormonal fluctuations. This may alleviate symptoms such as hot flushes, poor sleep, night sweats, or an irregular cycle.

NuvaRing works primarily locally through the vaginal wall, releasing a low dose of hormones daily. The product is generally not the first choice for hormone therapy in women who are fully menopausal.

What can you expect from NuvaRing?

NuvaRing releases hormones continuously for three weeks. This can help:

Reduce hormonal fluctuations
Regulate the menstrual cycle
Potentially alleviate symptoms such as hot flushes, poor sleep, and mood swings

The degree of effectiveness varies from person to person. Many women notice improvement within a few weeks.

Additionally, the ring provides reliable contraception by suppressing ovulation and making cervical mucus less penetrable.

When do I use NuvaRing?

Insert NuvaRing once a month
The ring remains in place for three weeks
After three weeks, remove the ring and either take a one-week break or immediately insert a new ring
Extra caution is required if you are prone to thrombosis or have migraines with aura

What symptoms is NuvaRing used for?

Primarily helps with:

Hot flushes/night sweats during perimenopause
Poor sleep and fatigue
Irregular menstruation
Vaginal dryness

NuvaRing may also help with:

Mood swings and irritability
Headaches related to the menstrual cycle
Skin and vaginal changes caused by hormonal fluctuations

NuvaRing is less suitable for women who are fully menopausal and no longer menstruating.

Do not use NuvaRing if you:

Are allergic to ethinylestradiol, etonogestrel, or other ingredients
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Have previously had a blood clot, such as deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism
Have an increased risk of thrombosis, cardiovascular disease, or stroke
Have migraines with aura
Have or have had a hormone-sensitive tumour (such as breast cancer or endometrial cancer)
Have a severe liver condition
Have unexplained vaginal bleeding
Are taking medications that affect the efficacy of NuvaRing (e.g., certain drugs for epilepsy, tuberculosis, or HIV – see leaflet)

Possible side effects of NuvaRing

Common (affecting 1 in 10 to 1 in 100 users):

Headache
Nausea
Abdominal pain
Vaginal infections
Tender or sore breasts
Mood swings

Uncommon (affecting 1 in 100 to 1,000 users):

Weight gain
Migraine
Skin rash
Decreased libido

Rare (affecting fewer than 1 in 1,000 users):

Thrombosis (blood clots)
Allergic reactions
High blood pressure

In rare cases, these side effects can lead to serious conditions, such as thrombosis or a severe allergic reaction. Always contact the prescribing doctor immediately in such situations.
