For which symptoms is Qlaira used?
- Hot flushes/night sweats
- Poor sleep and fatigue
- Vaginal dryness or recurring vaginal issues
- Heart palpitations
- Concentration problems
Qlaira may also help with:
- Mental symptoms such as mood swings and irritability
- Dry skin or skin ageing
- Changes in body odour
- Loss of muscle mass and strength
- Gastrointestinal issues
- Dry or itchy eyes
- Frequent urination
Do not use Qlaira if you:
- Are allergic to estradiol, dienogest, or other ingredients
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have an increased risk of blood clots or have previously had thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, heart attack, or stroke
- Have a severe liver condition
- Have or have had hormone-sensitive cancer (such as breast cancer or endometrial cancer)
- Have unexplained vaginal bleeding
- Are using other hormonal contraceptives
- Are taking medications that may affect Qlaira’s effectiveness (such as treatments for epilepsy, tuberculosis, or HIV – see leaflet)
Possible side effects of Qlaira
Common (in 1 to 10 out of 100 users):
- Headache
- Abdominal pain
- Nausea
- Tender or tense breasts
- Irregular bleeding
Uncommon (in 1 to 10 out of 1,000 users):
- Mood swings
- Weight gain
- Fatigue
- Skin reactions
Rare (in fewer than 1 out of 1,000 users):
- Blood clots
- Liver problems
- High blood pressure
Very rare:
- Severe allergic reactions
In rare cases, these side effects can lead to serious conditions, such as blood clots in the legs or lungs. Always contact the prescribing doctor immediately in such situations.
